Pavlik Harness

Pavlik Harness:

For babies under six months of age, treatment generally consists of wearing a hip brace or Pavlik Harness to keep the hips in a good position to allow for optimal development of the hip joint.

  • 0-6 months of age
  • Legs are positioned in the “froggy-leg” position
  • Straps are fastened around the baby’s feet and are held up by straps connected to the shoulders and chest
  • There is a wealth of information about the Pavlik Harness on the Royal Children’s Hospital website
